New Years Surprise!

I have had a wonderful holiday and an amazing year. I started feeling sentimental yesterday about the wonderful things my family and I have experienced – one of which is a new baby on the way.

As a farewell to 2011, here are some final looks. With my overseas travels this fall, I missed sharing some good ones. Alas, any working mom knows that you can’t do it all. But you can come pretty close.

Happy New Years.

Is it a Jacket or a Vest?

I had fun wearing this strange Marc Jacobs jacket – vest piece I scored at a Neiman Marcus last call sale. The red felt pencil skirt is from Talbots with the Isola peep toes and Chanel accessories.

I Love the 80s

For my toddler’s birthday, we took a trip down to Texas to celebrate with my parents. The night before the party, my mom brought over some of my favorite dolls from the 80s, including my boy and girl Cabbage Patch dolls (yes, she still had their birth certificates), a Strawberry Shortcake doll, and a couple of necklaces in a clear plastic tote my tot now uses as a purse. One of the necklaces is a big gold bead costume piece that I recently wore it to work with a blazer from Brooks Brothers and a jersey dress from Tory Burch. I still love the 80s.

Traveling with Missoni

I love traveling with Missoni knitwear. It doesn’t wrinkle, it’s comfortable, and you don’t need a lot of accessories. So, I was excited about checking out Target’s Missoni line. Alas, as a working mom, I didn’t make it to Target until 9 pm, and everything off the women’s rack was gone. Completely stripped bare. But, when I was looking for a few pieces for my tot, I could squeeeeze into the children’s XL. And so, here it is. A picture in a foreign country with a Target Missoni cardigan.

Mad Men

I scored this vintage skirt (with an awesome matching cape trimmed in orange suede piping) from Mon Amie Consignment in Carmel by the Sea, California. Thanks, Kimberley!

I paired it with an old silk blouse from J. Crew, a jacket from Zara, a Tory Burch bracelet and Corso Como pumps.

Red Stripe

Super soft knit Jacket by Bailey 44 from Mabel & Zora, a great little boutique in Portland. (Check out these matching lamps they have on their counter – LOVE.)

Long Pearls

CAbi jacket, costume pearls from a Chico sale, Zara dress, Louboutin pumps.

Two Ways

Here is another transition from summer to fall, wearing the same silk J. Crew skirt I found on sale at the end of the season.

DKNY blouse and D&G leopard pumps from Gilt.com.

Tory Burch jacket (sale score here, too), Brooks Brothers blouse, Christian Louboutin pumps found at the Decades Two Pop Up in Chicago.

Long Time

…away! I’ve been traveling again, and I have great pictures to post. In the meantime, here are a few looks I have been saving up.
