For my toddler’s birthday, we took a trip down to Texas to celebrate with my parents. The night before the party, my mom brought over some of my favorite dolls from the 80s, including my boy and girl Cabbage Patch dolls (yes, she still had their birth certificates), a Strawberry Shortcake doll, and a couple of necklaces in a clear plastic tote my tot now uses as a purse. One of the necklaces is a big gold bead costume piece that I recently wore it to work with a blazer from Brooks Brothers and a jersey dress from Tory Burch. I still love the 80s.
Red Stripe
Super soft knit Jacket by Bailey 44 from Mabel & Zora, a great little boutique in Portland. (Check out these matching lamps they have on their counter – LOVE.)

Two Ways
Here is another transition from summer to fall, wearing the same silk J. Crew skirt I found on sale at the end of the season.
DKNY blouse and D&G leopard pumps from Gilt.com.
Tory Burch jacket (sale score here, too), Brooks Brothers blouse, Christian Louboutin pumps found at the Decades Two Pop Up in Chicago.
Fall Transition
Long Time
Go Gold
I finally wore a gold chain necklace I have had forever tucked away in my accessory closet. With the silk nude skirt against a simple black backdrop and my hair pulled back, I felt like I needed to curtsey for my ballet teacher, Ms. Woody. Instead I grabbed a cup of rocket fuel and tore out for work.
Blue Check
Inspired by Atlantic Pacific, I dressed up a shirt I usually only reserve for weekends with costume pearls.
How “dressy” is your office? Would you wear this to work?
