Fall Transition

Late summer look:

Switch to orange:

And a dark jacket:

DKNY dress, silk Pucci scarf, shoes from Gilt.com. Blouse by Warehouse, Missoni for Target sweater vest, J. Crew pants, Manolo pumps, Tory Burch bracelet. See by Chloe jacket.

Time Machine

I have some catching up to do on JHS. As you look through the next few days, you’ll think either (1) we went back in time to late winter/early spring or (2) I have moved to Canada;) In fact, these were looks from a couple of weeks ago when the temperature dipped down into the 30′s and 40′s.

See by Chloe cardi from the Outnet, Missoni skirt, clearance booties from Jimmy Choo, necklace from Artswork in Le Claire.

Mixed Metals

It’s time to mix it up. I started with the grey crocheted top I found at a garage sale for and added layers of grey and various textures, from the Nicole Miller skirt to the Zara jacket.

The necklace and belt were on clearance from J. Jill, as well as the Rousseau shoes I found on Gilt.com. In fact, the jacket was the only thing I am wearing that was not on sale, but I think anything from Zara should count as budget friendly:)

Big Print

I threw this on because it was easy. No jacket, no jewelry… Just the dress and belt.

And a fun pair of Jessica Simpson shoes.

Vintage Blue

I have been looking for an excuse to use these vintage blue suitcases. So, today, I have props.

And yes, there are birds on my blouse. You may have also seen it on Cupcakes and Cashmere in a fabulous post about bow tie blouses.

And for Baby

I love Boden.

Travel-o-city

A few weeks ago, I traveled to Ft. Lauderdale for work. Here is my picture book. (All photos taken with my iPhone 4.)

A quick stop at Ferragamo in the Atlanta airport. I drooled over this belt. A must have for summer.

I got to stay at the Ritz. Someone made a comment during cocktail hour that this particular Ritz wasn’t up to “par”, which blew me away. I guess I am still just a simple girl from Iowa.

The first day of the conference, I wore a red linen jacket from Zara, striped T shirt from Chance, khaki skirt from Zara, and Tory Burch heels. Okay, maybe I took the nautical theme too literal.

My paralegal tells me these are her favorite shoes. So, I wear them for her. A lot. (And sometimes I even wear them without the poorly blended fake tanner. Here it is with; please ignore.)

I liked this picture in the lobby.

Day Two. I wore this number. Knit dresses are so simple to pack! The necklace was too heavy for a short trip, but I brought it anyway.

See? It makes me happy.

I like to mix textures. Here is a close-up.

On the way home, I went back to the jeans and navy jacket. I threw in this Surrounded necklace by Brook & Lyn. Several Floridians mauled me to find out where I bought it. It is a slice of agate surrounded in white rope. So, it’s perfect for a beach-y trip.

Sun Shade

It’s finally Spring in Iowa, and we’ve successfully made the switch from the 30s and 40s to the 70s and 80s. (Yesterday, it was 93 degrees!) So, break out the sunglasses and get ready for a wild season.

Office Mommy Ingredients: CAbi jacket, Talbots shirt, Zara skirt, Louboutin pumps, Anya Hindmarch bag.

Last Stop

… for wool. Red Tory pants and black Brooks Brothers suit (and turtleneck) are now packed in my winter closet. Spring officially arrived on Mother’s Day this year.
