I know. There’s a lot going on here.

iSad
In honor of Steve Jobs, I plan to put little “i” in front of all emotions this week. Yesterday, when I heard the news, iSad.
iSad because we have lost an artist of technology. We lost a person whose passion connected billions of people around the world. Or, as one friend put it on Facebook last night, we lost a person who helped make the city commute tolerable.
Love him or hate him, inspiring others is tough business. It’s takes a tremendous amount of passion to overcome the exhaustion of that passion. You turn your insides out, exposing your guts to people who hate them, or worst, don’t care.
If for no other reason that you might pause today, do it because – like any artist – he shared his passion. And his passion improved the lives of others.
Unlike many artists, however, Jobs didn’t falter. He didn’t try to hide the monster he created. He didn’t bury his essence under a layer of wackiness, drugs or finery.
Yesterday, iSad. Today, iRespect. Tomorrow, iInspire.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

Closet Confessions: Travel Bag
I haven’t confessed anything in a while, so here are the contents of a recent carry-on bag, which incidentally was a canvas LL Bean tote with so many inside pockets, it would be a fantastic diaper bag (and, in fact, was perfect for stashing boarding passes and IDs).
1. Smashbox Limitless Lip Stain and Color Seal Balm in Sangria
2. Pink Crocs I picked up at the Minneapolis airport, which looked huge but are in fact correctly sized, and now I have to ship them back… arg!
3. Tokyomilk Perfume no. 10 Everything and Nothing
4. A nerdy quarterly magazine put out by the International Legal Technology Association
5. Delta Sky Magazine I hauled home to show my husband an article about Ralph Lauren’s car collection
6. A license to wear heels in Carmel (may have to explain later)
7. iPhone and iPad
8. Audio Technica noise reduction headphones
9. Bag of Swedish Fish for my husband
10. Ivory cashmere pashmina, which doubles as a travel blanket and a scarf
11. A plastic fork (just in case)
12. Brookstone multi charger in a clear Ziplock baggie so I don’t have to dump everything out looking for the iPhone connector
And, by the way, this post took so long to put together that (1) I really hope you liked it, (2) I am amazed that some bloggers do this every day, and (3) it may be a while before I have another confession to make…!
Atlantic-Pacific
I have a new favorite blogger, Bee. (You can find her here on Atlantic-Pacific.) In fact, I have compiled a list of things I love about her style:
1. Fearless fun. She is preppy, she likes color, and she isn’t afraid to crash it with edgier trends.
2. Loads of layering. She wears her favorite jewelry. All if it together. At the same time.
3. Color. I love a fashion blogger who loves color.
4. Oversized. The huge CC brooch is fabulous. And the big bags suit her. She plays up the statement pieces.
5. Reinvent-ive. She wears her pieces over and over, revinventing them, instead of trying to create entirely new looks.
